1:3 “How to Create a Law Firm Biography Video that Gets Clients”
Hi lawyer friends, this episode 1 of a 3 part series about law firm video.
I love starting a brand new 3 part series and this episode is about your Biography video. I hope this is of value to you today.
In this 3 part series I’m sharing about:
- Biography videos
- FAQ videos
- TV style videos.
Each episode I’ll talk about:
- What production quality works
- What the content should be
- How that style works to meet new clients
Introduction: Do You Have a Law Firm Biography Video?
Maybe you have one and it needs updating. Or you may have never done your biography video! This will help you know what to do next.
Many smart law firms have developed their own video production companies, or better, have a special relationship with someone like us, who not only films but runs the ads so we know what actually performs. So let’s first look at what production quality you need for Biography Videos.
1. What Production Quality for Your Law Firm Biography Videos?
With biography videos I recommend a high quality. Show the lawyer in a way that lets us know they are a real person and that they care.
I often use 2 cameras one that has great stabilization so I can move around in different locations, and the 2nd camera will have a beautiful lens for depth of field and give us a really high quality shot that’s cinematic.

2. What Content for your Law Firm Biography Videos?
People tend to think lawyers are privileged and everything was handed to you on a silver platter. Most lawyers I met did not have that experience.
If you worked through law school tell them! It’s important you tell the story, and demonstrate how you are hard working and you care about them and their case.
Also remember that your biography is marketing.
Mistakes I’ve seen are when you think your biography should be about your personal life.
It’s always about your potential client and how they should feel about hiring you. This video helps them off the fence.

3. How do Lawyers get Clients with Biography Videos?
Your potential clients visit your “about page” on your website, but only after they see something on the homepage of your website, or if they’ve seen one of your ads.
When they’re considering hiring you, this is when they care about your biography video. It’s not usually viewed after they become a client.
So it’s a very important video because they are considering working with you. At this point, they are willing to spend more time watching this video than some others.

A Few Testimonials

I met Mary Cary when she was speaking at a Conference. She said YouTube was the 2nd biggest search engine in the world. I wasn’t utilizing the second biggest search engine in the world. We filmed over a hundred videos with Mary. She built our website when we had 2 employees, at this point in time, we have over 120 employees! Thank you!

I have worked on a number of projects with Mary. Mary built a stunning website for the San Diego market which she then search optimized. It was different and original rather than something cheap looking from an iphone. We wanted the ability to film anytime. Mary and her team came to us on site and built a video studio. She taught us about gear, sound, lighting, scripting, presentation and how to present on camera. When her program was completed she left the tools and know-how to produce professional in-house marketing videos for any platform at anytime. Mary is a pro and you will love working with her.

I have had GoMedia Marketing film engineering firms all over the United States for us all around the area of STEM Careers. We also have them build our websites and marketing strategies. Mary Cary went with a crew to film Dean Kamen and his young engineers in New Hampshire twice. We’re very happy with their kindness and help.

Go Media Marketing has top class support, Ned helped me understand how using video matters. Once we grew bigger we had Go Media Marketing do our videos – & blog for us. Mary Cary came to film us in Nebraska and I also came out to film with GoMedia Marketing in Sausalito. I stayed in San Francisco. Thank you! Highly recommended!
