Let’s look at utilizing avatars on video specifically for training your staff. One of the problems I’ve seen with my law firms these days is a fast turnover of support staff. If this is your issue this could be a valuable episode.

I’m going to use the example of hiring a Case Manager Assistant for handling pre-litigation personal injury cases from inception to settlement. This is my sample because this person has a lot of responsibilities. Training them takes time, talent and resources.

Benefits for law firms of using Avatars with Training Videos

Case Manager Assistant’s duties

• opening and setting up new client files
• opening and reporting claims to insurance companies
• placing statutory lien holders on notice
• drafting representation letters
• requesting police reports
• ordering medical records/bills
• assisting clients with scheduling medical treatment
• assisting with property damage claims
• Representing your firm’s culture

The Assistant Case Manager will establish caring relationships with clients, and collaborative partnerships with staff attorneys and support team. They have extensive contact with insurance adjusters, medical providers, and other parties involved in legal cases.

Assistant Case Manager is an important position at your law firm.

Even if they’ve done this before, they will need to understand your software, procedures and how to fit into your practice. All of the above mentioned duties are on a computer screen which means a screen capture video with your avatar could be a fabulous training tactic.

What can go wrong with law firms using Avatars with training videos?

I believe that Avatars are ideal for training videos. They have clear diction and great audio. They also easily speak in languages other than English, if needed. Let’s go look at a sample of my Avatar and you decide if you like it:

How Much Would Law Firms Pay for Avatars with Training Videos?

To be honest every situation will vary.  This will depend on the time it will take to put it all together. But I can say that the avatar portion of the video will be quick and inexpensive compared to regular video production. That being said, with training videos, the bulk of the time will be screen capturing your programs.

With avatars you don’t need to hire a person to be on camera, or read scripts which saves a lot of time and money. Also once the video is completed if a process changes, that will be a quick re-edit when utilizing an avatar.
