“7 Website Elements for Lawyer Success in 2023”

Hi Lawyers. Today I’m sharing the top 7 key website elements for website success in 2023. (Thank you my client/friend Kevin Heaney for our website example today!)

But first! A little reminder I’m speaking (at the end of March) at The Injury Board Conference in Tampa Florida (2023). And of course there’s a $250 discount for my law firm friends:

The Injury Board is an association of experienced trial attorneys practicing throughout the United States and the United Kingdom. Their members, staunch proponents of the civil justice system and consumer rights, pride themselves on being part of a select group that includes only the best of the best — past, present and future leaders of various trial bar organizations as well as board certified attorneys.

Please check out the Injury Board website to see if you’re a fit for the conference. And sign up!

And now (*insert announcer) … on with our important law firm website 2023 tips…

Hey there… it’s Mary Cary again your legal marketing director, website developer and video production pal.

A lot of law firms think that a website should be “set and forget”.

But in reality your website is one of the first places a client encounters your brand and message and keeping it up to date and regularly maintained is crucial.

In fact, when we’re done here, please go look at your website to see if everything works and you love the content. (If you don’t love your website please reach out right away! I love building law firm websites! I’ve built hundreds of them)!

There are several key elements that are important for a law firm website in 2023:

  1. A clear and visually appealing design: A well-designed website is essential for creating a professional and trustworthy image for your law firm. This includes using a clean, modern layout and using high-quality images and graphics.
  2. Responsive design: With more and more people accessing the web on their smartphones and tablets, it is essential that your law firm’s website is optimized for mobile devices. This means that the website should be easy to navigate and read on smaller screens.
  3. Clear and concise content: The content on your law firm’s website should be easy to read and understand, with a focus on clearly explaining the services you offer and the value you provide to clients.
  4. Easy navigation: Visitors to your website should be able to easily find the information they are looking for. This means organizing your content in a logical and intuitive manner, and using clear and descriptive headings and subheadings.
  5. A strong call to action: Your website should encourage visitors to take action, whether that means contacting your law firm for more information or scheduling a consultation. Make sure to include prominent calls to action, such as “Contact Us” or “Schedule a Consultation,” throughout your website.
  6. Legal disclaimers and privacy policies: It is important to include legal disclaimers and privacy policies on your law firm’s website to protect yourself and your clients. Make sure to consult with a legal professional to ensure that these documents are accurate and up-to-date.
  7. Contact information and location: Make it easy for potential clients to contact your law firm by including your phone number, email address, and physical location on your website. Consider also adding a contact form to make it even easier for people to get in touch with you.
Another tip for lawyers, having a chat function can be valuable for law firms. There are literally free WordPress chat plugins. Then you can have one person doing your Google Maps chats if you have that available in your geographical area, and your website chat rather than hiring different vendors.
