LAWYERS: “How much resources should your firm allocate to Meta ads?”
Hello law firms! Today, I want to talk to you about an important topic that can be a real headache for many of you: Meta advertising.
At the end of this post today I’m sharing a valuable offer to the first 4 law firms do not conflict with our existing client-base.
I’m super proud and pleased to be speaking about A.I. and it’s usefulness in marketing at the upcoming M&L Legal Marketing & Management Seminar in Vail, Colorado next week.
Way back in 2008/09 I started GoMedia Marketing & Productions because all I wanted in the world was to be a legal marketing director.
It was the verge of the recession, and I just could not get a job. I live in the San Francisco bay area, there are not too many opportunities for a legal marketing director.
So I started SEO-ing my youtube videos sharing legal marketing tips just as I do today for you.
My daughter had just gone off to Santa Barbara to college and my friends were joking that University California Santa Barbara was like going to “The Four Seasons” hotel and spa for school.
One day I got a call from Micki Love who was setting up the speakers for the M&L Legal Marketing Seminar Jan 2010 at (of all places) The Four Seasons Hotel and Spa in Santa Barbara.
At first I thought someone was “pulling my leg” but then I realized it was real! I stayed down the street (as the Four Seasons was too much $$$$$ for me at the time), and rode a beach cruiser bike over with my laptop!
Boy was I nervous. Those guys have the speakers walk around in the middle of a big round circle of desks. I thought they were going to slay me!!! But they were so nice and I picked up my first 2 law firm clients then and there…
The rest is history! I spoke a lot all over the world with these guys at the M&L Legal Marketing and Management Seminar.. about every 6 months or so…and at some point around 2017 I branched out to other conferences (nothing like this one but still pretty cool).
This is the group that catapulted my career in legal marketing. So it’s been a long time since I saw everyone! I’m stoked to see all my old friends there.
I often think how much more simple life would be having one law firm to work “for” rather than working “with” so many of you and having an agency! But I never would have traveled the world and taught so many people legal marketing.
And I love GoMedia Marketing & Productions. It helped me raise my kids and had meet law firms all over the world who I still consider some of the most wonderful friends!
I wish you could all come, but you need to be invited to attend. These lawyers all help each other tremendously. This is because not one conflicts with another. It’s a truly unique experience.
Mostly super successful lawyers are the speakers who have grown law firms to considerable levels. I hope to bring you some tips!
Now, back to our regularly scheduled tip for the week.
I understand that as a law firm, you have a lot on your plate, and having to spend time on marketing can be a real challenge. But with so many potential clients searching for legal representation on social media, having a strong Meta advertising strategy is more important than ever.
In fact, an average social media user spends 2 hours and 31 minutes daily on social media. That’s a lot of time and attention!
“Meta Advertising”, (which is advertising on Facebook and Instagram), is different from posting on these platforms for free because it allows us to reach a much larger and more targeted audience.
When you post for free, your reach is limited to your existing followers and their networks, but with advertising, you can target specific demographics, interests, and behaviors to get your message in front of the right people who need your help.
Advertising allows you to use a variety of ad formats, such as image ads, video ads, carousel ads, and more, to capture the attention of potential clients in different ways.
You should also track and measure the success of your ads through analytics and data allowing you to make informed decisions about your marketing strategy and budget.
Overall, Meta Advertising is a powerful tool for law firms and businesses of all kinds to reach new audiences, build brand awareness, and drive conversions.
So, how much time should your law firm be spending on Meta advertising?
Well, according to recent statistics, the average law firm should be dedicating about 20-30% of their marketing budget to Meta advertising.
Here’s a stat I’m not sharing in today’s video:
Google Ads Cost More than Meta Ads

These are real stats from a six month campaign run in Arizona. The numbers you see here are averages.
A few of you might say “What is a lead?” – a lead is a potential client who has been screened by us to your guidelines and sent to your firm.
Any way I slice the numbers on any campaign for any of our clients, signing clients from Facebook is a less expensive than signing clients with Google Ads.
But most law firms have issues with “Meta” Ads.
WHY ISN’T EVERY LAW FIRM USING META?
- Complexity: Like Google Ads, Meta Advertising is complicated and takes a lot of time, talent and effort.
- Playing it Safe: Most law firms are stuck with Google Ads because moving their budgets over is tricky and they’d rather stay put even at great expense to the firm. (Don’t rock the boat)
- Lack of Experience: Most agencies do not have the experience or knowledge needed to create complex automated campaigns that need to be nurtured over time.
The good news is that with the right approach and tools, Meta Ads work very well indeed. And your competition has no idea how. Which means that potential clients do not see a stream of lawyer ads in their feeds. I personally love that.
So… with our help, you can create Meta advertising campaigns that bring in a steady stream of new clients while freeing up your time to focus on what you do best: providing excellent legal services.
So why not give Meta Ads a try and see the results for yourself? Check out my offer while it’s still available!
