My #1 TIP: How to Build a Car Accident Law Firm
Welcome Lawyers! This is the first in a 3 part series about how to build a car accident firm.
I work to help lawyers build car accident firms and it’s not so straight forward as you’d think.
But before I start my rampage about building law firms that bring in car accident cases, I want to wish you a very happy summer.
I hope your family and practice are thriving. We’re not always in the perfect head space as entrepreneurs (and humans in general I guess), and I’m wishing you love, peace and joy today.
Also thank you! The last 3 posts were about Reception and Intake. MaryMae in the Philippines, and I want to thank those who reached out.
Our work together (with you lawyers) has changed their lives, especially during Covid. If you have questions about Intake with us reach out.
And now back to our regularly scheduled Car Accident law firm content….
Building a Car Accident Law Firm is Not So Straight Forward
Many of you might say “we’ll throw a car accident style commercial on Facebook and that will bring in enough clients”. That is not how it works.
Getting car accident clients is a lot more complex than you would imagine! And after seeing all the TV spots all these years, you might think it’s easy!
Why would a Lawyer Want to Build a Car Accident Law Firm?
There’s a lot of reasons to build a car accident firm and I’m excited to share my #1 tip for how to build a car accident firm!
I have a client friend, Michael Bereston, Bereston Law in Maryland, who gets so much satisfaction working on childhood injuries (not that it’s a “specialty” so we cant use this term in marketing because of the Bar Associations) … but I’d say Michael IS a Birth Injury lawyer.
Michael used to tell me that he handled car accident cases to keep the lights on because Birth Injury cases take a long time. Car accident cases tend to move quicker than the Birth Injury cases Michael focusses on in his practice.
You might have a lot of reasons to start or grow and streamline your car accident firm.
Here is my #1 Tip for How to Grow a Car Accident Firm
Start by realizing that people who have been in a car accident think their insurance company truly has their back. They are skeptical and have been brainwashed to think only a bad person would go out and get the help of a lawyer.
They don’t actually know what they’re up against. In short, they need a lot of follow up and educating.
If you understand that your potential clients need tons of education, then you can begin getting content in front of them that educates them on details they don’t know.
Something they may not know (an example would be…) that their own health insurance company would possibly get a good portion of their payout and only an experienced law firm may realize how to go about helping you retain more of your settlement, (depending on the laws in your state).
There’s a lot of content you can build that will truly help them off the fence and it all starts with using your expertise to educate and build trust with your potential clients.
#1 Tip for How to build a Car Accident Firm: Understand the mindset of your potential clients and based on knowing their headspace, get lots of educational materials in front of them. In short: find a way to follow up … follow up and follow up some more!
