There are many ways to utilize social media marketing for your law firm. In this article I’m talking about your free social media business page. And this is exactly how the Kardashians make a killing over and over. And if you do it right, you will attract the client base you’re looking for too. (After all this is about getting really interesting cases in the door).

I’m aware The Kardashians may have a bad-rap in certain circles. But one thing we can probably agree upon, is they’ve made a killing on social media.

According to Fortune Magazine: Kylie Cosmetics raked in $420 million in retail sales in 18 months.

But how can a law firm use The Kardashian empire as a road map? Before you start, you need to make decisions about your brand’s message, look & feel.

While the Kardashians have grown and changed over time, they’re very deliberate about what they post, how often they post, and what they want back from their fans. You too must be “Kardashian” deliberate.

Lawyers – Get On Camera

So after you make decisions about your brand’s fonts, colors, message and strategy, now get comfortable in front of the camera. OH… and for the sake of this strategy, please do not aim for perfection, just aim and shoot! When people need your help, they are not interested in how perfect you look! They just need your help.

Think of it this way, the Kardashians are selling beauty and you are helping people find their way out of a devastating situation.

How Lawyers can be Prolific with Social Media Marketing

You might think there’s not much to say. But in truth, most of your potential clients have never stepped foot in a law firm or even met a lawyer. Answer the top questions they may have like:

  • Why does practice area experience matter?
  • How can a lawyer help me?
  • What does a lawyer cost me?

And the real trick is to do this regularly. Filming 30 videos in one day is a great way to have content ready to go out.

Posting as often as possible builds trust. They say:

“Hey… there’s that lawyer guy again!”

Responding to Comments and Interacting on Social

Always take the time to thank people for responding if you have the time. This makes you even more “real” to people. The whole point is getting clients and making you approachable is very important.

After all, they often think you’re rich and born with a “silver spoon in your mouth”. While that’s often the perception, in my years working with lawyers, that’s almost never the case and something you want to dispel.

And remember if you get a bad review or something negative, react with authenticity and empathy. Many people who need you are hurting.

Have a “Call To Action” for 10 to 20 Percent of your Posts

Posting regularly is a lot of work but can really help establish your brand. There are a lot of theories on how often you should make the posts about your company and what you do. What we’ve seen work best for Plaintiff’s lawyers, is about 20% of posts about what you do in the form of short FAQ content, and the rest be humanizing your firm by talking about community outreach and/or sharing interesting news or fun animal posts.

Ask them to like your page so they see future posts, visit your website, or call now! Those are just a few ways people can connect in your “call to action”.

This of course is only the TIP of the iceberg when it comes to getting cases on social media! Remember, carrying out these ideas takes plenty of time, talent and effort. If you have questions or need help, reach out!
