“3 Tips How Video Lighting Can Make You Look Younger”

Hi Lawyers. Today I’m sharing 3 tips about how video lighting can make you look younger. This is the kind of post that works better on video of course so I hope you’ll watch and if you’re on YouTube hit the subscribe, notifications and leave me a thumbs up or comment! (That’s so other law firms can find me… I’m kind of invisible on YouTube right now because we don’t pay for ads there).

Hey.. it’s Mary Cary again your legal marketing director, website developer and video production expert.

Many of us are really uncomfortable in front of the camera, me included. I’ve been doing this for years and I’m still a little self-conscious. It’s harder than it looks.

However, proper lighting can help to make you look younger (and feel better) on video by minimizing the appearance of wrinkles and blemishes, and by providing a more even and flattering illumination of your face.

But wait… a lil’ personal law moment…. (you can skip past if you want)…

I’m studying that content you get in undergrad called “Introduction to Business Law” and I love it so much.

Who knows, I may end up being one of those people who loves the law, but can’t pass the tests or actually do the work. But I sure hope not!

Its funny to me how I’ve been building law practices my whole adult life and been a legal secretary for many years and had pretty much every support position… and yet… the law is an entirely different subject!

Thank you to all of you peeps who help preserve our precious Justice system! I’m honored to be helping you guys meet clients.

And now… on with your regularly scheduled tip (about video lighting)!

Here are a few specific ways that lighting can help to make you look younger in a video:

  • Soft, diffused lighting: Using soft, diffused lighting can help to minimize the appearance of wrinkles and blemishes on your skin. This type of lighting creates a softer, more flattering look that can help to make you look younger.
  • Highlighting the center of your face: Placing a light source at or above eye level and aiming it towards the center of your face can help to highlight your features and create a more youthful appearance.
  • Avoiding harsh shadows: Harsh shadows can create an unflattering, harsh look that can make you appear older. To avoid this, try to use lighting that is evenly distributed and that avoids creating deep shadows on your face.

By using these techniques, you can create a more youthful and flattering appearance in your videos.
