“Can AI Write Your Marketing Copy/Video Scripts?”
Hi Lawyers. Today I’m sharing an AI generated video script for a personal injury video where (if you’re reading this script) you’re speaking to a client who has been in a car accident.
Here I’ll point out where I think the script gets into trouble (likely with your Bar Association) and where it hits the mark!
But first! A little reminder about the The Injury Board Conference in Tampa Florida (2023) where I’ll be speaking live in person and I sure hope to meet you there! There’s a $250 discount for my law firm friends who use the coupon:

And now (*insert announcer) … on with our important law firm website 2023 tips…
Hey it’s Mary Cary again your legal marketing director, website developer and video production expert. I’m going to dissect an AI generated video script today based on my real data and experience writing hundreds of law firm videos, and analyzing the data to see what makes the videos perform getting you new clients.
Having artificial intelligence writing your scripts sounds like a shortcut that won’t work on the face of it. But it’s not really completely bad, maybe that’s because I already know what works to bring in clients.
Let’s look at this AI generated videos script, here’s how it starts: (Thank you to my dear friend Tara Kelly did the voice over so it doesn’t sound like me in our video!)
Hi, my name is [Name] and I’m a personal injury lawyer.
If you’ve been in a car accident, you may be feeling overwhelmed and unsure of what to do next. You may be dealing with physical injuries, lost wages, and expensive medical bills, and you may be wondering how you’ll be able to pay for everything. That’s where I can help.
This is really good. I love the empathy and how short the introduction to you actually is. I write scripts the same way except I’d put the “Hi my name is…” section after the empathy. People care about themselves and what they’re going through first.
Let’s look at what the AI generated video script would say next:
As a personal injury lawyer, I have the experience and knowledge to help you get the compensation you deserve. I will work tirelessly to make sure that you receive the maximum settlement possible for your injuries and damages.
This is really generic. I would dig in here and actually tell them something they don’t know about what they’re up against, like why their own insurance company is responsible to their shareholders and may offer you the least about possible for your claim. Or why many people feel guilty over hiring a lawyer and why. Or how our justice system is set up to compensate someone in order to make them whole again.
Let’s look at the last part of this AI generated script:
If you’ve been in a car accident, don’t wait to get the legal help you need. Contact me today for a free consultation and let’s discuss your options. Together, we can get you the financial and legal support you need to move forward.
Thank you for considering me as your personal injury lawyer. I look forward to helping you get the justice and compensation you deserve.
Here they say “Don’t wait…” In our videos, I’d explain why they shouldn’t wait. Why evidence grows cold or if in a trucking accident for instance, an army of people will be on the scene trying to minimize what happened to you to protect the trucking company.
When the AI generated video says “thank you for considering me as your personal injury lawyer.” That’s great because thank you is endearing. Next in a real video you’d tell them how to contact you to get the justice and compensation they deserve.
All in all the AI generated video script wasn’t bad at all! It just needs to be a lot more detailed sharing your specific experience and expertise.
