Lawyers: (Case Study) What Practice Area is Best for Meta Ads?
Lawyers: Case Study: What’s the Best Practice Area for Meta Ads? Today I’m sharing real numbers about Meta ad campaigns we’ve run for Personal Injury and Social Security Disability. I’m starting a new campaign for a Criminal Defense firm today and I’ll help you out with some numbers on that in a later episode.
So you have a big firm that’s doing fine, or your a lawyer working in a firm and want to get out on your own… or anywhere in between. Building a practice takes a lot of time talent and effort. You have to understand the practice area, and also seemingly have an MBA or rely on a firm to do things for you! I understand I’ve been in this niche my entire life.
Welcome! I’ve been helping law firms grow with marketing & management techniques since 2008 and I have done marketing with over 176 law firms to date.
My name is Mary Cary, legal marketing director and founder of my legal marketing agency GoMedia Marketing & Productions.
So what’s in today’s post? First I’ll talk about the personal injury law firm leads, how many we got, how long it took, how much we spent and some of the pitfalls we’ve found along the way. Next I’ll do the same for my social security disability law firm friends.
What I won’t be talking about in this video is what content to create, your bar rules for marketing & advertising and all the other components that went into getting ready and launching these campaigns. Lets leave that for another episode! 🖋️🎥
Both of these case study law firms are really authentic amazing humans, who have worked hard to build their practices in their communities and already have systems in place for handling cases. So let’s get started with our personal injury law firm case study.
The first thing to know is that marketing can be quantifiable but people will also use workarounds by googling you, or bypassing the call to action on your ad some other way. That being said, also if you’re new to advertising, people need to see your content 17 unique times to feel comfortable hiring you. So you need to really have your content out there.
PERSONAL INJURY LAW FIRM META ADS CASE STUDY
This Personal Injury law firm is in a geographical area that has about 302,787 people which is ½ the amount of people in my Social Security disability firm’s demographic. That is important because we have fewer people to work with. Also in personal injury a case can be worth a lot more than in Social Security Disability.
So let’s look closer at our personal injury firm: In three months we have spent $743.72 and brought in 26 people who have given us their contact information. This comes to c. (Of course this doesn’t include the people who did what I call advertising workarounds).
The average cost per lead from Google Local Services Ads for Personal Injury Attorneys in 2022 is $240 per undisputed lead. Leads generally cost between $140 – $340 depending on how competitive a market is.
SSD LAW FIRM META ADS CASE STUDY
Now let’s talk about social security disability benefit leads. According to eGenerationMarketing, through lead generation, most of their Social Security clients can expect to spend around $250-350 per desired case, although some clients spend even less. So my SSD lawyer’s geographical area has about 630,260 people about twice the amount of my personal injury firm in this study. Here we’ve gotten 93 verified leads who gave us all their contact information in the 2 months we’ve been advertising on Meta (of course the people who do those advertising workarounds are not included here).
In three months this firm has spent $1808.17 which comes to $19.44 each. Now with this firm we also did another kind of ad where we simply asked people to “call now” this is traditional advertising where you don’t necessarily get their contact information. We had 288 calls the budget so far was $258.94 so that comes to .89 per call.
So what is the best practice area for meta ads?
My personal injury lawyers are bringing in qualified leads at $28.60 per lead and my Social Security Disability firm is bringing in leads at $19.44 per lead who gave us all their contact information and .89 per call. In my opinion Meta Ads is working great for both firms. Now some of these will turn into clients and some will not. But what’s amazing is that now these firms can cross reference the data and see exactly who turns into a case and from which ads.
Most of the pitfalls with this kind of advertising is the expectations. You need to think of this as something that needs to be watched day in and day out to be sure it continues running smoothly. Also, expect that people don’t really want to hear from you until the see your content 17 or more times. We reach out to them anyway, but they’re mostly not ready to hear from us.
