Hey Lawyers! Should you have an in house video studio? I’m sharing the pros and cons. I’ve filmed thousands of law firm videos and built hundreds of studios in law firms.
I think YES… yes having an in house video studio can work out great but there are also a lot of things I’ve seen that can ruin your dream of making an in-house video studio really work for you! I hope this can help you…
TOP FIVE THINGS THAT HAVE GONE WRONG FOR LAW FIRMS HAVING THEIR OWN IN HOUSE VIDEO STUDIO:
- You use your studio once and you don’t end up using it ever again. Or your staff learned how but they forget or don’t work for you anymore.
- You put the gear somewhere that needs to be dismantled and forget where the gear is or how to set it up again
- Folks in your office end up borrowing your gear for various projects and it doesn’t stay organized
- You don’t have anyone who really understands branding or marketing and your videos end up being a mess to look at – and don’t work to get cases
- They did it to save money, and it actually was more time and work than anticipated. Where they could have had a strategy, brand bible, and scripts written in advance, and done regular filming every six months with someone who knows what they’re doing! (hint)
Those are the top things I have seen go wrong. In my next video I’m going to talk about how it can go very right!
