“5 Tips How to Use Video”

Hey lawyers. Today I’m sharing 5 tips for using video for your law firm.

I sure hope you had a wonderful holiday (if you’re enjoying this content in realtime)! There was a lot of freezing storms, and I was scared for some of you… as we have clients all over the country who are/were experiencing some really cold weather.

Why am I removing all my online courses?

Danger… I’m about to whine and “ka-bitz”… (skip over this section to get to happy professional California vibes: “5 Tips How to Use Video”).

Keeping my online courses hosted at “Thinkific” cost more than they made this year. You know… I run a legal marketing agency, and like my law firm clients, I look at the bottom line.

With 12,800+ law firms following my content, and 3,500 weekly email “opens” – I assumed during Covid (when things were hard on my agency), a few more of you would want to know how to get clients regularly in-house, inexpensively, and on your own time (because that was my mind-set).

Since 2008, I’ve trained law firms to get clients not only by public speaking and vlogging, but going to you to build in-house video studios and teach website development, seo, complex strategies, and how create media on all platforms that actually gets clients. I create law firms customized online video training courses to scale up their firms.

Your practice area, and how to get clients is unique. You may think you can hire a marketing director out of a prestigious school to get top results right away. Not really.

For instance, I trained a fresh young new high-priced Wharton MBA grad in New York who thought getting law firm clients meant having a painting party at a community center. (Try building a thriving car accident practice with a painting party … nothing personal here… but that would take a while).

Lawyers also think “I’ll get Findlaw” they have a big name. Companies (like Findlaw), hire people for the least amount, who don’t have the first idea how to get you clients.

My real law firms want real clients asap. We have to win. So I’ve shouldered the heavy lifting to learn how to get you clients, build your brand, film your videos, and master the system as fast and inexpensively as possible for lawyers.

Nevertheless, it turns out my authentic (and proven) law firm marketing courses are not selling frequently enough to make it worthwhile to keep them alive right now.

My courses may come back on my own website someday. I may build them a home there since I am a website developer… (so I can lower the prices overall and not think about whether they sell or not).

Today, my clients and team are my heart’s highest priority.

If you are interested in my online course content, get them for 90% off until January 13, 2023 –  Put in: 2023 – at checkout. (And make sure to download them since I’m removing them from the platform).

All existing courses close permanently January 13, 2023.

“5 Tips How to Use Video”

There are many reasons to shy away from video. Fear of technology is one of them. In fact, I’ve had to become a huge “gear-head” to really understand and enjoy video production for my law firm clients. You may be unfamiliar with or uncomfortable using the equipment and software needed for video marketing, which can be intimidating.

Here are some tips for using video that might help you focus on what’s important:

  • Use video to showcase your expertise: Consider creating video content that demonstrates your knowledge and expertise in your field of law. This could include educational videos that explain complex legal concepts or “Q&A” style videos that address common questions from clients.
  • Use video to build trust and credibility: Video is a great way to establish a personal connection with potential clients. Consider creating videos that introduce yourself and your team, and explain your approach to working with clients.
  • Optimize your videos for search: To make sure your videos are easy to find online, be sure to use relevant keywords in the titles and descriptions of your videos. You should also consider using closed captions or transcripts to make your videos more accessible and to improve their search rankings.
  • Make sure your videos are mobile-friendly: With more and more people accessing the internet on their smartphones, it’s important to ensure that your videos are mobile-friendly. Make sure your videos are in a format that can be easily watched on a small screen, and consider using a responsive design for your website to ensure that your videos look great on all devices. When embedding your videos on your website, pull up the page and check that they’re mobile friendly.
  • Consider using video for online consultations: Since the COVID-19 pandemic, many lawyers are using video conferencing software to conduct consultations with clients remotely. If you decide to offer online consultations, be sure to use a high-quality video conferencing platform and test it out before your consultation to ensure that it works smoothly.
